PUNKIN PALOOZA

It is time once again for the
Spotten Family Pumpkin Carving Festival 2009!

As you are about to see pumpkin carving at our house is not a simple jack-o-latern affair..........

Cameron's two little girls each wanted a tinkerbell, Ethan made a Skull Thing, Meg a Wolf Man. And Alan carved his kids a Jasmine and a Dinosaur!

Tyson and I carved a trick or treat-er at a monsters house!
Man you should have seen the team work, We had 2 knifes in the pumpkin at the same time! That takes some mad skills I tell you! We finished the pumpkin with all of our fingers intact.
I must admit he did most of the pumpkin cleaning out,and fine details for which I am grateful!

*Those that were not able to attend this year were greatly missed! Happy Carving :)

Brown Boot Victory!!!

It all began when I found the most wonderful boots on-line at Nordstroms. They were delightful I tell you! I went to try them on in the store and the fit just wasn't right, Not to mention they cost $220 there was no way I could justify that. Simply trying them on gave me all of the woeful feelings of shoppers remorse! Utimately they just didn't sing to me.......
So the hunt continued to find me a pair of brown boots! I constantly looked online went and hunted in stores! It seemed as though the perfect pair of brown boots and I would NEVER meet. My boyfriend could hardly believe I had a pair of black boots, and NOT a pair of brown boots in my wardrobe, that is when I had to get serious!
Then it happened, after weeks of searching I found something I liked online at Sears! I called over to make sure they had my size, skipped lunch drove to the mall after work on my way to school, and they sang...... The Boots sang to me! Good things do happen to those that wait! And the best part..............................They were only 1/5 of the cost of the ones I origanlly wanted!

Snow Patrol Concert

So on Saturday Oct. 10th 2009 Tyson and I got to go see Snow Patrol (and The Plain White T's) at the Mckay Events Center. We got our tickets for free from a lady Tyson's mom works with who bought the tickets and wasn't able to go (Muchos Gracias to her!!!!) So the adventure began when we had to come up with $3 for parking, of course neither one of us had cash, so Tyson handed me a huge handful of change and told me to start counting. (mind you he didn't have any quarters!) after I counted out a dollar I handed to the girl so we could count out 2 more dollars, She said it was ok and let us park for $1 :) After we parked the car we had to walk trough security, I had a GIGANITC purse and I knew they were going to search it! The Security guard started looking through my purse and asked me if I had any food or drink....... knowing I had put in a granola bar in, in case I got hungry I told him "I am pretty sure there is a granola bar in there." He said  "a granola bar ?!?!?! well you better not eat in here!" (he was being sarcastic, it was funny!)

Then we found our seats and the concert began! It was SO SO SO SO SO good I loved it! The Plain White T's lead singer was sick, but oh well! (they sang just enough songs, and I managed to live through "hey there delilah" It's not such a bad song:) )  Then the Wonderful IRISH Snow Patrol band did an AWESOME job! I seriously had a ton of fun! They played my favorite song "Make This Go on Forever" so I was completely satisfied!

Another great thing about the concert was listening to Gary (the lead singer) just talk, yes just talk in his handsome Irish accent, His Irish singing voice wasn't too bad either;)
Yahoo for a free concert.... well I guess it cost us a dollar.
My only regret: I should have bought the T-shirt
